# Pet Chemist

> Pet Chemist Online is an Australian online pet pharmacy service offering prescription and over-the-counter pet medication, parasite prevention, vet diets, and pet health supplies for dogs, cats, horses, birds and wildlife — delivered Australia-wide. Prescription medication is dispensed and supplied by Pet Chemist Pharmacy, an Australian registered pharmacy, and requires a valid pen-signed prescription from an Australian-registered veterinarian.

Pet Chemist Online facilitates the supply of prescription medication by Australian registered pharmacists. All medication is sourced from Australian veterinary wholesalers or direct from manufacturers, and is registered with the TGA or APVMA. Customers typically save up to 50% compared to purchasing medication from a vet clinic.

## How to Purchase Prescription Medication

Over-the-counter products (many flea, tick and worming treatments, supplements, food and retail items) can be purchased directly with no prescription.

Prescription medication follows this process:

1. Obtain a valid, pen-signed prescription from an Australian-registered veterinarian. Electronic prescriptions and prescriptions from online-only telemedicine vet services cannot be accepted, consistent with Australian Veterinary Association and state veterinary board guidelines.
2. Order the medication on petchemist.com.au and complete checkout. After payment, you will be prompted to upload a copy of the prescription and provide additional details.
3. Post the original pen-signed prescription to Pet Chemist, PO Box 999, Tweed Heads NSW 2485. A pharmacist can only dispense the order once the valid original prescription is on file.
4. Once verified, the order is dispensed by a registered pharmacist and dispatched by Express Post or Startrack Premium. Refrigerated medication ships with cold-chain packaging (styrofoam esky and ice bricks).

Prescriptions are valid for up to 12 months (or earlier if the vet specifies) and only the quantity authorised by the vet can be supplied — ongoing prescriptions are not permitted. If a prescription includes repeats, Pet Chemist holds the repeats on file, so the original does not need to be re-posted for each repeat order. Repeat medication can be placed on AutoShip for automatic scheduled delivery. A Priority Processing Service is available for urgent medication orders.
